Q1: Why do we need a Christian University in Australia?
Answers:
- Why not?
- Choice is a good thing.
- Some students will feel more fulfilled being in an environment where their Christian faith will be openly supported and encouraged.
- Some people who work in tertiary education will feel more fulfilled being in an environment where their Christian faith can be openly shared and appreciated.
Q2: Aren't there already Christian Universities in Australia?
Answers:
- There are over 150 tertiary providers in Australia but less than 50 Universities. A tertiary provider is not necessarily a University. There are a number of tertiary providers who are Christian but no tertiary provider with a Protestant (non-Catholic) evangelical orientation that would be considered to be a "fully developed" Christian University offering Courses in a range of fields such as Science, Medicine, Law etc etc.
- Australia should have a number of Christian Universities so even when there is one "the first one" it would still be good to have more.
Q3: Which Church denomination (or grouping) would your University be aligned with?
Answers:
- Our Christian University will be founded, managed and operated by Christians from every Christian denomination and grouping.
- In the same way that many Christian schools around Australia are managed and staffed by people from a wide variety of Christian denominations, and students come from families connected with a wide range of Christian denominations (or no church connection at all) our Christian University will be "inclusive".
Q3: Will your Christian University accept enrollments from non-Christians?
Answers:
- Yes. Absolutely.
- All students who enroll will naturally need to understand that the values and beliefs of the Christian faith are encouraged and reflected in all dimensions of the Christian Universities' activities, programs and campus life.
- Our hope would be that non-Christians feel a sense of love and acceptance regardless of their own personal beliefs.
Q4: What core Christian beliefs do you hold to?
Answers:
We believe that the Bible is the source of information that is meant to inform us about God and His relationship with man. We have a one-page Statement of Belief that is meant to provide some examples of the kinds of things we believe that the Bible teaches. Download the Statement of Belief.
