Latest Updates
In May 2025, we were given a unique 30-day window to put in an offer to buy the Wises Road land. We partnered with a group of property developers, investors, and a construction company to put in an offer to buy this land. Below are the updates from May - June 2025.
This opportunity was a pivotal moment of encouragement for us - it was the land we have prayed over for more than seven years. And God brought a group of experts together at just the right time who joined with the vision to see the university become a reality.
While the outcome wasn't what we believed for, we know that God will direct us to the "promised land" in due course - so we continue to pray and seek His mind for the timing and location of this university.
We value your continued support either through prayer, or financially, as we prepare in the "waiting" season.
10 June, 2025 - Offer NOT accepted
Dear Supporters,
Thank you for standing with us in faith over the years, especially in relation more recently to the possible purchase of the Wises Road property.
Yesterday we received notice that the offer of another entity had been accepted.
I wanted to let you know straight away as many of you have been waiting to hear. Naturally we continue to look to the Lord for his direction and provision. He is the vine, and we are the branches (John 15).
The flow of everything we need to produce fruit for His kingdom comes from Him. He is the source of all our inspiration, and even in this time where things have not gone the way we thought they might, we still truly say with confidence and unwavering faith in His goodness and ability to lead us on:
"For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen." (Rom 11:36)

28 May, 2025 - Offer to buy the land
Dear Supporters,
Over the past 30 days, we have connected with financiers and developers who are interested in purchasing the Wises Road land. Those involved aim to facilitate the development of the land in a way that provides a return to the investors funding the purchase, while also creating a pathway for the establishment of our proposed Christian University on the site. This approach is something we have felt the Lord leading us to embrace over the past few years.
Yesterday, a representative of the group that has come together made a formal offer to purchase the land on behalf of the group (which includes us) through the appropriate channel—the seller’s solicitor. This comes just two days before the May 30th deadline we were given approximately 30 days ago.
We expect that other entities will also be submitting offers to purchase the land. Therefore, we are trusting the Lord with all our heart, not leaning on our own understanding, and seeking to acknowledge Him in all our ways (Proverbs 3:5–6) as this process unfolds.
Thank you for standing with us, with our eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2), as we now wait for further developments in this amazing journey.
Sincerely in His service

15 May, 2025 - 15 days to go - A call to pray and fast this Saturday 17 May
Dear Supporters,
Yesterday, I was speaking with David Allan - a trusted friend, advisor, and brother in the Lord who graduated from Liberty University (USA), one of the largest Christian universities in the world. A few years ago, David and his wife Paula, both Aussies passionate about serving the Lord, stepped out in faith and journeyed to the other side of the world to study at Liberty.
David has been involved with us since our earliest conversations about the proposed Christian university. Yesterday he felt led to direct my attention to the stories of Esther and Nehemiah - both of whom acted with prayerful intent to bring about historic, national change.
In the same spirit, over the next 15 days, we are praying for the Lord’s wisdom and direction to act in such a way that our proposed offer to purchase the 90 acres of Wises' land would be viewed with favour and ultimately be accepted.
We are aware that many other entities - some seemingly much larger and more powerful than us, with multi-billion dollar national land development projects already underway - are also preparing offers. Yet, our trust is in the Lord our God to guide and direct our efforts to present a proposal that will be "sufficient."
As part of our submission, the agents managing the sale have requested a 500-word "development statement." A document provided to those expressing interest expressly states the following: "As the Wise family have owned the land for many generations it is important for them to understand that the selected purchaser has a development vision for the land that reflects the uniqueness of the land holding." (Raine & Horne Information Memorandum, p. 12, “Offers to Purchase”). We certainly aim to refer to the vision of the late Peter Wise who featured the location of our proposed Christian University in the 46 page prospectus he produced for prospective buyers at that time a few years ago.
One of our supporters currently involved in the development group assisting us to secure the land suggested we invite others to a day of fasting and prayer this Saturday, 17 May 2025. Would you consider joining us? We won’t be gathering in person, but we will be standing together in unity.
Perhaps this day will be remembered by us as a pivotal moment, much like the day described in Esther 9:1, when “the enemies of the Jews had hoped to overpower them, but quite the opposite happened. It was the Jews who overpowered their enemies.” Only God could bring His people through such a critical, life-or-death moment—and only God can do the same for us.
Please stand with us in prayer and fasting as we navigate our way through this next 15 day period of our journey towards seeing the establishment of a world-class, fully developed Christian University For Australia.
May the Lord give us wisdom and favour.
With hope and gratitude,
Paul Truasheim

7 May, 2025 - Why a Christian University + Prayer Devotional
Dear Supporters,
Thank you to everyone who responded with such excitement to last week’s update about the opportunity before us — the potential purchase of land we’ve been believing for over many years. Your encouragement and support mean so much.
We continue to work closely with a dedicated team, including several highly experienced professionals in property development and large-scale land acquisition. What a blessing to have their expertise guiding this next step! Those involved are considering ways in which the land can be purchased and developed in a way that helps finance the establishment of our proposed Christian University for Australia (CUFA).
Why a Christian University for the Sunshine Coast?
Over the years, some have asked why this vision matters. With so many well-established Christian schools across Australia, there is still one significant gap — a clear pathway for Year 12 graduates to continue their studies in a fully developed Christian university.
Our vision is not just for an institution that carries a Christian affiliation with limited program offerings. We are aiming for something much more — a university that offers the full range of academic disciplines, such as, for example, those including medicine, law, journalism, engineering, IT and computer science, political science, psychology, marketing and digital communication, and more — all from a distinctly Christian worldview.
We’re passionate about creating a space where students can explore how their faith intersects with their academic, ethical, and professional development. A Christian university on the Sunshine Coast would not only serve local students, but also welcome students from across the Asia-Pacific and beyond - reaching out to the "ends of the earth" with a global and international appeal.
Join Us in Prayer this May
May is a pivotal month. The land we’re pursuing is highly sought after, and opportunities like this are rare on the Sunshine Coast. But we believe God is able to make a way — even when it looks impossible.
"Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven." — Matthew 18:19 (NKJV)
We invite you to stand with us in prayer throughout this month. To help guide your prayers, we’ve created a Pray for the Land Devotional — filled with daily scriptures, encouragement, and prayers to fuel your faith.
Thank you for praying, for believing, and for standing with us in this exciting and significant season.
With hope and gratitude,

1 May, 2025 - 30 days to go!
Dear Supporters,
Two weeks ago, a Christian property developer committed to help position us to make an offer on the purchase of the 90 acre Wises land site we have felt drawn to over the years for the establishment of our proposed Christian University for Australia (CUFA) Campus.
On the same day that seven of us met together (including the developer) to cement our intentions to proceed with an offer, we were unexpectedly notified that a deadline of May 30th had been set for such offers to be submitted.
No doubt we see the mighty hand of the Lord our guide and our provider in the timing of these events. In addition, a local church pastor offered to have a high quality (commercial standard) video presentation produced to update potential supporters and investors of our heart and vision for this initiative, especially the purchase of the Wises land. Production began last year but was finally completed on Monday THIS WEEK which has enabled us to include reference to the 30 day deadline in front of us.

(It will only take a few minutes of your time to watch from start to finish)
I was teaching Maths yesterday to a class of Year 9 students in the Christian school I serve at, and as part of my responsibilities within that first lesson of the day, I was going through the "Student Notices" which included the following verse:
The Lord is my strength and my shield;
my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.
My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him. Psalm 28:7
I paused briefly to refer to this Christian University endeavour which my wife Sheeree and I initiated over a decade ago as a way of illustrating how that verse applied to me that day. I also suggested that the substance of that verse (which I read to the class) could somehow apply to their lives - at school or elsewhere.
My prayer is that one day we'll have University lecturers standing in front of their students sharing a testimony of the great miracle we saw "back in the day" (including this "day" ... these next few weeks of this month) which led to the establishment of the lecture facilities, online technology infrastructure, research programs and life changing student activities connected to a national and international sense of "knowledge for a better world".
We welcome Wendy Morton to the current staff team we have associated with this initiative. She has experience working within government universities in Australia and Christian universities in the USA. With Wendy's assistance I hope we can keep you updated on developments over the next 30 days and beyond. This may include more emails than is usual, and perhaps some more regular posts on our website.
Please stand with us as we seek to keep you prayerfully and faith-filled in the loop of what transpires as the Lord works on our behalf.
Very sincerely in His service,
