Our Beliefs
We believe:
- The Bible is the written Word of God in both the Old and New Testaments: it is inspired, infallible, inerrant and impeccable as originally written; and its teaching and authority is absolute, supreme and final;
- God is one God in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit: these three are one God, but distinct in personality and work;
- Everything was brought into being from nothing by a direct act of God. Man was created in the image of God but at the Fall mankind sinned against God and became separated from God;
- In the incarnation of the Lord Jesus Christ, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, truly God and truly man: in His sinless life, the shedding of His blood on the Cross as the sufficient and vicarious substitute for the sins of the whole world: and His bodily resurrection from the dead and His ascension into heaven, from where He will personally and physically return to judge both the living and the dead;
- Christ is the only way of salvation and a man is justified before God by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ alone;
- The Church is composed of all those who truly believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour;
- All believers in Christ are called into a life of fellowship in a local church, of separation from worldly and sinful pleasures, practices and associations, and from all religious apostasy;
- The mission of the people of God is to love God and be obedient to Christ and to His commission to make disciples;
- The Holy Spirit indwells all Christians to help them understand God's revealed Word, to make them more and more like the Lord Jesus, and to empower them to serve Christ and his church in the world.

Q5: What core Christian beliefs do you hold to?
Answer:
Answer:
- Choice is a good thing. Many students thrive in an academic environment that actively fosters critical exploration of how morality, ethics, and Christian faith intersect—equipping them to thoughtfully integrate these principles into their vocational calling.
For many professionals in tertiary education, career satisfaction extends beyond academic achievement—it thrives in an environment where their Christian faith is not merely tolerated but valued as an integral part of their intellectual and vocational identity.
Q2: Aren't there already Christian Universities in Australia?
Answer:
- There are over 150 tertiary providers in Australia but less than 50 Universities. A tertiary provider is not necessarily a university.
- There are several higher education institutions in Australia that state some form of Christian connection. However, most are considered a higher education provider or specialised university due to their limited scope of programs. There is room for an evangelical university committed to offering a full scope of programs to serve not just Australian students, but those from across Asia-Pacific and the world.
Q3: Which Church denomination (or grouping) would your University be aligned with?
Answer:
- The Christian University for Australia will be interdenominational while embracing a broad spectrum of evangelical Christian traditions as its foundation.
Our approach is:- Inclusive: Welcoming staff and students from diverse Christian backgrounds.
- Unified: Focusing on core Christian beliefs that unite rather than divide.
- Collaborative: Drawing strength from various denominational perspectives.
- Christ-centred: Emphasizing a personal relationship with Jesus as the foundation.
- Purpose-driven: Uniting around our shared mission of faith-integrated education.
- This ecumenical stance allows us to benefit from rich theological diversity while maintaining a strong, cohesive Christian identity. Our goal is to create an environment where faith deepens, understanding broadens, and students are equipped to engage with the world from a well-rounded Christian worldview.
Q4: Will your Christian University accept enrollments from non-Christians?
Answer:
- Yes, non-Christians will be welcome to enrol. However, all students must understand that the University's values, programs, and campus life will be deeply rooted in the Christian faith. Students will be required to respect and abide by the University's guidelines, which include expressions of Christian faith embedded in the learning experience.
Our hope is that every student, regardless of their personal beliefs, will feel genuinely loved and accepted within our community and have the opportunity to explore the teachings of Jesus in an open and supportive environment.
Q5: What core Christian beliefs do you hold to?
Answer:
- We believe that the Bible is the source of information that is meant to inform us about God and His relationship with man. Our Statement of Beliefs provide examples of the things we believe that the Bible teaches.
