Our Vision

Imagine a place on the beautiful Sunshine Coast where faith and learning intertwine, shaping the next generation of purpose-driven leaders.

Our vision is to create a comprehensive Australian evangelical Christian university—an institution that harnesses cutting-edge technology including the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), to deliver faith-centred and future-ready education. This university will serve as a beacon of hope, integrating spiritual formation with academic excellence, preparing graduates not only for meaningful careers but for lives of spiritual and practical significance. It aims to influence culture through Christian leadership, ethical innovation, and a global mission mindset.

We’re not just building a university with exceptional teaching and research facilities; we’re investing in student’s whole-person development where Christian values and academic excellence unite to tackle global challenges and inspire positive change.

The Time is Now!

The Christian University for Australia (CUFA) initiative embodies a transformative vision for higher education, rooted in faith and purpose. The CUFA will have a comprehensive suite of program offerings and embrace a technologically advanced approach to learning, including the innovative emerging use of artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance student engagement opportunities and experiences. This bold initiative addresses a long-standing gap in the Australian higher education sector: the absence of an evangelical, faith-based university that is academically rigorous across a broad range of academic offerings, with a substantial research and development focus, and technologically future-facing.

Key Pillars of CUFA

This University will provide a unique environment where faith and learning intersect, fostering intellectual growth, spiritual development, and a deep sense of purpose. This holistic approach to education will prepare graduates not just for careers, but for lives of significance, enabling them to address complex global challenges through a Christian worldview.

  • Faith-Integrated Curriculum – Rooted in Christ and Scripture
  • Artificial Intelligence-Driven Operations – Enabling efficiency, personalization, and scalability
  • Stackable Learning Pathways – Modular programs from micro-credentials to full degrees
  • Global Online Access – Reaching learners across Australia, Asia-Pacific, and beyond
  • Wellbeing and Pastoral Care – AI-supported early intervention with faith-based support

Strategic Alignment
The development of CUFA aligns with key national and state priorities, including the Australian Universities Accord and Queensland Government education strategies—with a focus on regional growth, digital innovation, educational equity, and addressing workforce skill gaps.

Accreditation Process
While the term “university” is used here to express the vision, full recognition as an Australian university will involve a multi-stage process through the national regulator. This includes first achieving status as a “University College,” which requires meeting stringent academic and operational standards, followed by at least five years of successful operation before full university status may be granted.

Serving the Asia-Pacific Region
The vision is to establish a world-class institution that will attract students from across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond. Leveraging Australia's reputation for high-quality education and its strategic location in the region, the CUFA will become an online and physical hub for world class level faith-based higher education.

With a focus on innovative teaching methods, cutting-edge research, and a strong emphasis on practical skills, key features of the proposed university will include:
  1. Comprehensive course offerings spanning multiple disciplines, including STEM fields, business, law, arts, and theology.
  2. Strong international partnerships with Christian institutions and organizations across the Asia-Pacific.
  3. A multicultural campus environment that fosters cross-cultural understanding and global perspectives.
  4. Specialized programs addressing regional challenges and opportunities with a global context.
  5. English language support and cultural integration programs for international students.
  6. Emphasis on research that addresses pressing issues in the Asia-Pacific region from a Christian worldview.
